About LocoQuote
LocoQuote is an independent parts sourcing desk for locomotives and railcar movers, serving Canada and the United States. It is not an authorized dealer of any maker; maker names and part numbers are used for fitment reference only.
What is listed
20,754 searchable part numbers across 139 part families and 80 locomotive model pages. Makers covered include EMD, GE, Alco and MLW, WABCO, Cummins, Trackmobile, Woodward, ZTR and more than 100 other makers. The list is built from the United States federal supply catalogue, which is public domain, maker parts lists for EMD, Woodward governors and Gardner Denver compressors, the United States Army manual for the GE 80-ton switcher, and open supplier pages. A part that is not listed can be added to a request with its own number, a description and up to three photos.
How a request works
- Search by part number, part name or unit model, or add an unlisted part with its number, a description and up to three photos.
- Put every line in one request for quote (RFQ). No account, no minimum order, no published prices.
- A person reads the request and replies by email with price, condition and lead time on every line.
Conditions quoted
Each line is quoted in a stated condition: new, rebuilt or remanufactured, or used serviceable. When nothing is stocked, a part can be made to your sample or drawing. The condition is written on the quote, so lines from different sources compare on equal terms.
Safety-critical parts
Wheels and axles, brakes, trucks, couplers and fuel tanks are sourced only from the maker or from shops certified to AAR M-1003, the Association of American Railroads quality standard. The certificate of conformance is passed through to you. No substitution without your written approval.
Where it ships from
United States customers are served from United States vendors, shipped inside the United States. Canadian customers are served from Canadian and United States vendors. One part or fifty; a nameplate photo or a sample is enough to start.
Your request number
Each request gets its own number, built from the date and time it arrived, so you can quote it in any follow-up. If a unit is down, mark it on the form.
